36m Aluminium Crew Boat

Swissco Cheetah is the first delivery in a two boat order of 36m, 70 passenger aluminium Crew Boats for Swissco Offshore. The vessel was designed by the American branch of Australia’s Incat Crowther. The naval architects, who established their name with multi-hull vessels, now have amassed significant experience in the design of offshore vessels and monohull Crew Boats. Such was the success of the acceptance trials on Swissco Cheetah, the owners immediately placed orders for two more sisterships to be constructed at Cheoy Lee. 

This ABS classed 36m vessel is a powerful workhorse. Powered by triple Cummins KTA38-M2 engines, with a total installed power of 4050hp, Swissco Cheetah can carry 50 tonnes of cargo on her 94m2 timber clad aft deck, 70 personnel, and ten crew. Twin Disc MGX-6690SC gearboxes transmit power to three fixed pitch nickel aluminium bronze propellers to provide a trial speed of over 26knots, carrying a deadweight of 31 tonnes. Control is by Kobelt triple head electronic controls at both forward and aft control stations in the wheelhouse. Electro-hydraulic steering is by Jastram, with jog levers at both stations and wheel steering forward. The 100hp Thrustmaster tunnel type bow thruster is also controlled by joysticks at both stations.

Electrical supply comes from two Cummins driven Stamford generators each producing 80ekW, energizing Terasaki switchboards to drive on-board systems. A water cooled Cruisair airconditioning system cools the accommodation spaces on all three decks. The lower deck accommodates the ten crew in six cabins forward, with a large galley, mess area and laundry room. Seventy personnel are housed in one open deckhouse cabin with two heads aft, and flat screen TV’s forward. Passengers are seated in comfortable and adjustable Beurteau chairs, fitted with seatbelts. The pilothouse above is fitted with an array of predominantly Furuno electronics at the forward and aft facing stations with Bostrom helm seats at both.

Sewage from the three heads is treated by a Headhunter Tidalwave system, and a Taiko Kikai oily bilge water separator to prevent polluting discharges from the vessel. There is also an Alfa Laval fuel treatment system to ensure clean supply to the engines, in addition to triple Racor filters for each.
