Cheoy Lee Z-Tech 6000 tug - Rio Indo - delivery
Apr 17, 2008
Yard number 4897 is the sixth Z-Tech 6000 to be completed by Cheoy Lee for the Panama Canal Authority. As with all Z-Tech deliveries to the various corners of the globe, the Panama tugs make their way to their place of work on their own bottom, which means a 10,000 nautical mile crossing of the Pacific Ocean, stopping only once in Hawaii for fuel.
Twin Wartsila 9L20 diesels, each developing 2448 hp, driving through two LIPS azimuth rudder propellers, propel the Panama Z-Tech’s to 12 knots, both ahead and astern. Bollard pull is in excess of 60 tonnes in both directions.
Cheoy Lee Z-Tech 6000’s are built to Lloyds Register of Shipping class.
Principal Dimensions: 27.40m LOA x 11.50m Beam x 5.10m Draft.
