31M ASD Tug
Built to a Japanese design, Nautica TG Puteri XVII is a 4000hp Azimuth Stern Drive tug, completed by Cheoy Lee for a Malaysian client. The deep sea/harbour tug is of all steel construction, built under Bureau Veritas class survey, with the notation I+HULL+MACH Tug Unrestricted Navigation.
The vessels propulsion system is from Niigata, comprising a pair of 6L26HLX main engines, each developing 2,000hp at 750rpm, driving two Niigata ZP-31 Z-Pellers. The configuration provides a maximum free running speed of 13knots, with a measured bollard pull of 50 and 45 tonnes in the ahead and astern directions respectively. Auxiliary machinery includes a pair of 115kW Yanmar generators. A fire pump, PTO driven from the port main engine, delivers 1,300m3/hr of water to two fire monitors mounted forward on the wheelhouse deck level.
