Second RAmparts 3000 ASD Tug Delivery

Two weeks after the departure of Riverwijs Maryon, the second in a series of four RAmparts 3000 tugs for the same owner, Riverwijs Karoline, set sail for Dampier Port in Western Australia. The remaining two vessels are scheduled for completion before the end of 2009.

Identical to the first vessel, Riverwijs Karoline is also designed by Robert Allan Ltd and built to Lloyds Register classification, with the notation + 100A1 Tug, * IWS +LMC, UMS. Propulsion is by two Niigata 6L28HX diesels, each developing 2,500hp, driving Niigata ZP-41 azimuthing thrusters which provide excellent maneuverability, and a bollard pull of 65tonnes. The maximum free running speed at full load is 12.5 knots.
